Introduction to RMR
Welcome to Red Music Reviews. I am just a normal guy who enjoys good music and writing. Why not combine the two? I'm writing these reviews based on my personal opinions, my biases and thought processes, so if you don't agree, it doesn't bother me at all. I have a huge range of music tastes, and I'll try and cover them here, but no promises. If you have anything you want me to review please send me a message or a comment, and I'll put it on the list of reviews. I also have hundreds of my own songs to review, so if I don't get to it, don't throw a hissy-fit. I hope we can just have fun here and listen/share/discuss new and old music.

The Reviews
I always been pretty critical of music, I know that there are no perfect songs, but I'll still give some of them a 10 out of 10. This is how the scale will work. A 0 is unbearable, un-creative and totally horrible, a 5 is good, solid, nothing to really rave about but nothing to hate, and a 10 is practically perfect. I hope this scale helps.

Originality:
This ranks the song on how it sounds compared to other music in it's general genre. I'm not going to compare the originality of Eminem to The Rolling Stones nor would I compare the Beatles to Deadmau5.  I'm looking at original uses of instruments, beats, sounds, melodies and the general pattern of the song compared to other in it's genre and compare to music already produced by it artist.

Instruments:
For the most parts all the instruments possible and objects in the world have been used in some way in songs. I will be focusing on how well the use and innovate the instruments for the song. For example, I love Rise Against, but their guitar and drums are pretty much the same through every song, which is point taken off, but if it goes really well with the voice and create a good sound for the song then they can earn back some points.

Vocals:
This section might get me in the most trouble. Some people think that Little Wayne has an amazing voice for rap and his music, I personally think he sounds terrible, but it doesn't mean he doesn't have talent or that the vocals are particularity bad. I'll try to be pretty fair, even though I may not like the voice, they may have talent and use it in the song and will judge accordingly. I am also reviewing the lyrics, I won't be doing full in depth analysis of every line and breaking down the meaning of Octopus' Garden, but I'll consider the general poetic nature and flow of the words.

Longevity:
Let me clear this up. A song can be great, really fun and awesome, but if it only stays around for a few months and then is never heard again, what's the point of it? I understand that we get new music everyday, and taste and culture changes, but Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody is a timeless masterpiece, and N'Sync's Bye Bye Bye may have been a world wide sensation lasted for about a year or two. I know that everyone has thousands of song and artists, and going back and listening to old stuff isn't that common anymore, but the question is, if it came up on Pandora, would you be excited to hear it again? Or want to skip it.
