Real Music From Planet Dubstep
Sampling from Mortal Kombat, when done well, can sound freaking good. Tarro really stepped up my standard for dubstep with this song, the song’s really good builds and drops and wide selection of complimenting sound make this song really really good. The builds: they are slow and feel pretty flowy, but natural for the song, and help set a stage for the excellent drops. Tarro uses a number of different electro sounds and a solid beat with other sound other than just increasingly faster drums to make the drop. The drops: it is actually split into three pieces, for those who do a lot of electronic listening its cool to pick out and sound really great. There are two main synth leads that work together in the drops, mimicking each other and playing off each other in an almost classical style of two main instruments taking turns in creating a similar melody. The song has a huge variety of sounds and the voice samples during the builds and Mortal Kombat samples are well embedded into the song to bring some force to the song. Make sure your volume is good and loud to really appreciate the strength of this song.
